At the end of 2019, Confirm Basel acquired a building contract of great architectural value. At the invitation of the City of Basel, Switzerland, our office there was able to prevail against two competitors and is now contracted to carry out the renovation work on the primary school Volta primary school in Basel.
The Volta Primary School was designed by the renowned Basel Architecture Firm Miller & Maranta and was inaugurated in 2000. With its uncompromising architectural expession and rational, functional concept, the school building has been regarded beyond the cantonal and national borders as a showpiece of modern school building construction at the turn of the century.
In addition to the renovation of the floor coverings, the installation of room acoustic measures, the local earthquake retrofitting of non-load-bearing constructions and the upgrading of the building automation and school media, the main construction assignment of the renovation is the installation of a new multi-purpose hall and a new escape route concept with additional internal staircases.
The building construction work was expected to start in the Summer of 2020, at a contract value of CHF 5.2 million. The Confirm Team in Basel is looking forward to realizing its first contract for the City of Basel together with the firm, Miller & Maranta.
