The Gutstrasse development was built in the 1980s and is a listed building. 110 apartments are spread over 4 upper floors in 2 buildings, which are being renovated in stages. Between the two buildings there is a playground and the settlement’s common room. As part of the renovation, contaminated sites were first cleaned up. Thereafter The supply and disposal lines were replaced. The kitchens and bathrooms in all apartments will be renovated and the existing surfaces will be refreshed. Four of these apartments at Gutstrasse 228 will be preserved in their original form as part of the monument protection, with the exception of the bathroom in the ground floor apartment.
The strand renovation is carried out in the apartments to be renovated when they are unoccupied. The development is inhabited during the renovation. The flat roof sealing of the roof and the ceiling above the underground car park will be completely replaced and re-covered. The existing common room will be replaced by a new, free-standing building and upgraded with the associated exterior design. The parking garage will be equipped with modern smoke extraction. The project will be SNBS certified.
