Crane work involves a lot of moving, shifting and placing heavy objects
The preparation and installation of construction cranes is a highly precise and well-coordinated activity that involves many safety measures and specialist knowledge. What is particularly interesting is how the cranes work together to erect the 100 meter high construction crane. Here are a few highlights of the procedure on the USZ MITTE 1I2 construction site in Zurich.
Lead time and precision: Before the first pneumatic crane even arrives, detailed calculations and tests must be carried out to ensure that the ground is stable enough for the cranes to be erected. The precise positioning of each part of the crane is crucial to the entire process.
Coordination and communication: Several teams work together during assembly and lifting of heavy loads. Communication between the crane operators and the responsible person is particularly crucial in order.
Safety measures: There are strict safety precautions throughout the crane installation. This includes not only the use of protective equipment, but also regular inspections and tests of the crane mechanisms.
The impressive technology: The large pneumatic crane, which is specially built for such tasks, has powerful hydraulics and a boom that makes it possible to move enormous loads. The assembly of the boom is a technical masterpiece
Overcome fear of heights: Crane operators must also have a high level of confidence in their technology and skills in order to be able to work precisely at dizzying heights.
